Parent Liaison Welcome Letter

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Cameron Sims, and I am a parent and community liaison here at Riverdale Middle School. First and foremost, I hope that you and your family are doing well. Second, I am looking forward to working with all stakeholders: parents, guardians, families, teachers, and students. My job is to facilitate communication between home and school, empower parents by providing them with instructional resources to support learning at home, and offer volunteer opportunities.

Available Resources

The Parent and Family Engagement Resource Center is located in room 101. We have several parenting/teaching brochures in English and Spanish, a parent lending library, instructional resources to support learning at home (available for checkout), and computers with Internet access available for your convenience. I also plan to help facilitate parent-teacher conferences throughout the remainder of the school year.  

 

Available Services

I am honored to be able to assist and help families with the following services:

Ø  Providing academic resources

Ø  Coordinating opportunities for parents to meet other RMS parents.

Ø  Parent and community workshops

Ø  Being the liaison between school, teacher, parent, and stakeholders as needed.

Ø  Assisting with computer usage in the parent resource center.

 

Final Thoughts

The Riverdale Middle School Parent Resource Center is an extraordinary privilege and one that parents should fully enjoy. It is an opportunity for you to participate in your child's education by learning about our school, meeting other parents, and getting to know our awesome staff.
